Prescriptions

Our preferred method of prescription request is now via the chemist. If you need a repeat prescription issued you can hand in the right hand side of your prescription to the receptionist or put it in the prescription box.

The doctors need to check and sign these so please allow 3 working days (if submitted before 3.00pm)  before collection. Prescriptions can be posted if you enclose an S.A.E.

Repeat prescriptions are normally issued for one month at a time. We also operate a “batch system” for those prescriptions that are likely to remain stable for long periods of time which saves a lot of hassle.

We also recommend the use of electronic prescriptions; sending percriptions through electronically saves time and paper and vastly reducing the opportunity for prescriptions to be lost, mislaid etc. To take advantage of this please ask your chemist about “nomination” which essentially means choosing your preferred chemist to request and recieve your electronic precriptions.

Although The Wash Common Pharmacy is located adjacent to the Surgery, it is privately run and not linked to the Surgery in any way. Our patients are able to use the pharmacy of their choice to obtain their medication.
