Getting seen

Surgery Opening Times:

Monday – Friday: 8am – 6.30pm

We are open 2 Saturdays per month please check with reception

Sunday – CLOSED

Before making an appointment consider using out Symptom Checker to see if you can safely look after yourself

The Surgery is closed on Bank Holidays and Public Holidays also.

Phone Lines:

The phones are answered between the hours of 8am – 6.30pm unless otherwise stated (we periodically have whole surgery training sessions, when the phones are diverted to an alternative number). It would be very helpful if you can avoid phoning during the early morning  for non urgent matters, as we are extremely busy during peak times.

You may see any of the doctors but we feel it is better to stay with one doctor if possible. You can make an appointment to see your doctor at reception either in person or by telephone or via our website. You will be offered the first available time with your own doctor. If you need to see a doctor urgently you will be able to see a “Duty” doctor the same day but this may not be your own doctor.

Emergency appointments:

Urgent medical problems will be triaged by the duty doctor so please be prepared to give a brief description of your symptoms and your contact telephone number you will then receive a call from the duty doctor that day.

You may then  be asked to come into the surgery at a specific time but you still may have to wait to be seen. Our routine appointments are often made longer to cope with ongoing or complex problems. Your co-operation with the receptionists is requested as our appointments do become booked up very quickly. They are doing their best to make the surgery run smoothly for both the doctors and the patients.
